Try this recipe for a brilliant fruit salad.
You will need:
1 orange, half a lemon, 1 pear, 2 bananas, 2 peaches, 225g strawberries, 125g raspberries, caster sugar.
Get a lemon and an orange and squeeze the juice out into a large bowl.
Get a pear and peel it, then cut its core and slice the pear, then peel a banana and slice it, then add it to the bowl too.Stir the fruit into the juice.
Get the peaches and cut them in half, then remove the stones.
Peel the peaches, then slice them. Rinse the strawberries and raspberries, then pat them dry with paper towels. Then cut the stalks out of the strawberries and cut any big ones into quarters.
Add the peaches, strawberries and raspberries to the fruit in the bowl. Sprinkle a bit of sugar over the fruit and mix everything together. Put the fruit salad in the fridge to chill for at least an hour.
My friend is a very good cook. She's definitely a better cook than me. This is some Shepherds Pie my friend made:

If you can't find any recipes, then try looking at the Jamie Oliver website, or maybe try the BBC Good Food website. Cooking is a sort of art, really, and making salad is the same, but it's only like that if it's not store-bought.
Thank you for your wonderful article. I can tell that you really love fruit and vegetables. I wish you could talk to my eight-year-old son, who won't eat his greens and keeps catching colds as a result.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure your 37-year-old friend made that lovely Shepherd's Pie?
ReplyDeleteYes, although she may have bought it from the shop.
